Troy
Mayne has been photographing the underworld realm for 10 years.
Born in Bunbury, Western Australia he grew up with the ocean
and very soon after joining the army when he was 19 he completed
his open water dive qualification.
He fell in love with the marine life
he first saw on the Great Barrier Reef and soon completed his
Dive Master Qualification.
He
desperately wished to record and share his amazing aquatic experiences
and purchased his first underwater camera system. Six months
after taking his first underwater pictures, he had his first
article published in an international dive publication.
Troy served in the Australian Army for
ten years. He served as a soldier and an officer in the Infantry
and the Military Police. He served all around Australia and
the World, and saw active service with the first contingent
that entered East Timor in 1999. He discharged the Army in 2002
to pursue his dream of being a full time underwater photographer.
Troy worked in various capacities within
the Dive and Tourism industry, including Trip Director/Marine
Biologist on a cruise ship, Reef Guide, Education Officer and
Dive Officer for the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority,
Dive Instructor, Commercial Diver and Underwater Photojournalist.
He is a qualified SCUBA Diver Instructor and had completed his
Level 3 Commercial Diver Course.
Troy has dived all a round the world,
including Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Fiji, Indonesia,
Thailand and in the UK.
Troy
Has had numerous photographs published in many books, magazines
and advertisements around the world. He is currently working
on publishing a series of books on the Great Barrier Reef. He
has written the first of series of quality children's picture

Troy Lives in Cairns in Queensland on
the Great Barrier Reef and spends all his time diving and photographing
its beauty and splendor.
